$latex F = ma&s=4$
In physics, a force is any influence that causes an object to undergo a certain change, either concerning its movement, direction, or geometrical construction. It is measured with the SI unit of newtons and represented by the symbol F. In other words, a force is that which can cause an object with mass to change its velocity (which includes to begin moving from a state of rest), i.e., to accelerate, or which can cause a flexible object to deform. Force can also be described by intuitive concepts such as a push or pull. A force has both magnitude and direction, making it a vector quantity.[1]
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Revelation 12:12
The above definition is exactly the method the devil uses on us. It was his desire from the beginning to move us from a state of rest in Christ, a state of rest we can have today in Christ as we celebrate His Creator-ship in the hours of the Sabbath. Our movements in ministry, direction in life, and even the geometrical constructions of our bodies, our very world are all under attack. We are being accelerated toward final movements rapidly because the devil knows he has a short time. The momentum under which all of this will happen will cause some to deform, some will be pushed away from Christ, others pulled. With each one, there will be a different magnitude and direction the force will come from. But in each case the goal is the same, to move the person as far from Christ as possible.
He wields many forces to accomplish his object: jealousy, despair, fear. All are implemented the same way, with an illusion, a lie.
It is that lie that causes the mind to turn in a different direction than it should.
In the beginning the direction was clear, all the roads to satisfaction, joy and love were found on the path of Christ.
In Eden that changed. The linguistic sophistry of satan caused the minds of Adam and Eve to change course, and how they evaluated the Word of God.
When we read in Genesis 3:1, it tells us that the serpent was “more subtil than any beast of the field.” That word subtil comes from a Hebrew word `aruwm, it’s primary definition being crafty[2]. If we further explore that word craft we find this etymology:
From Middle English, from Old English cr?ft (?physical strength, might, courage, science, skill, art, ability, talent, virtue, excellence, trade, handicraft, calling, work or product of art, hex, trick, fraud, deceit, machine, instrument?), from Proto-Germanic *kraftaz (?power?), from Proto-Indo-European *ger- (?to turn, wind?). Cognate with Eastern Frisian craft (?strength?), West Frisian kr?ft (?strength?), Dutch kracht (?strength, force, power?), German Kraft (?strength, force, power?), Swedish kraft (?power, force, drive, energy?), Icelandic kraftur (?power?)[3].
The oldest of these expansions reveals a very interesting concept, to turn. To turn something requires the use of force. Even moving a ship a bit can cause it to go way off course. So it is with man, using a bit of force can cause man to go off the path that Christ has laid out in His word.
The dragon’s voice speaks louder every day. If a third of the angels were swayed by the masterful speech of the dragon, the same that deceived our first parents, what can we do?
There is one solution.
In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Psalm 62:7
He is the only object that no force can act upon. There is no acceleration that can change His vector of love toward us. He is unmovable. He will work tirelessly to save you. Nothing will stop Him from saving a sinner who desires the freedom that only Christ can provide.
Praise God that if we cling to the Rock, there is no power on earth that can turn us from His unfailing love and the salvation that He provides.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor e principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
Take a moment to evaluate your walk, shine the lamp of God’s word on your path. If you’re not on the solid rock, you’ve lost your way.
