Such has been the summer of Little Light Studios, it will be one that we will never forget. It started out rough. Our business manager, Brandon decided to serve the Lord in other capacities and left the ministry at the end of May. But he was more than that, video editor, graphic designer, and camera man. In a very large way, this ministry started because the Lord used Brandon to minister to his friends. Out of that blossomed the ministry that many have come to appreciate today. He’s not someone you replace, you simply move on and let the Lord lead.
But then Danique came. We had been in contact with her for months prior to the General Conference session. We picked her up at the airport and she traveled with us. She helped at the booth and when we returned she got straight to work. As an intern, she already knew a fair amount. And we didn’t have to show her much. She finished up some projects for us, and we are grateful because we really needed the help! She left this Thursday morning and will be missed. We pray her light will shine brightly in the Netherlands.
Just after the GC session, a very hard decision had to be made. Thom our cinematographer took an offer to go to Daystar Academy in Utah, to be a teacher. There are many factors that played into this decision. And we are not looking at it as a permanent separation, but that we may join up with him again as the Lord leads.
And then, there were two….Scott and myself. Now what? How do you go from 4 to 2 and still get everything done?
We could hire help and we do a little bit. But it’s been a miracle this ministry has survived financially. We are always strapped for cash to pay workers. And sometimes at the end of the month, we can’t pay them.
Please don’t misunderstand, this is not a sob-story as a plea for more funds. Funds will aways be needed, no matter what size the ministry is.
It’s a call to prayer, a call for patience and a call for help. We need your prayers now more than ever. We need our minds to be clear and our bodies to stay strong. We need your patience if we take a little longer to get back to you in the lines of communication. We need you to bear with us as it will take longer to get projects completed.
So what are we working on now?
Leaving Independence – Yes, we are still working on this, and it’s still in the editing phase. At this point it is about 4.5 hours long and we are trying to decide if it should be trimmed down or just leave it as it is.
Love At Work – This is a project on the 10 commandments. We are working with the Palmer’s, a devoted couple who wants to share God’s love with the world.
2nd Annual Ag Conference – This is a door that may open for us to film this, and it may not. The Lord knows. But if it does, we would film this conference and all the talks we are told would be available for free.
Light Shining in the Darkness: The Secrets, Dangers & Spiritual Powers Behind Martial Arts, Yoga & Eastern Mysticism – This is nearly completed. Eric went and filmed a 5 part series at Amazing Discoveries. You can think of it as a more in-depth follow-up to The Dragon Revealed. Thanks to Danique it’s all finished on the editing side and the artwork for the DVD. We are just making some finishing touches and will hope to upload these to Vimeo by next week and make the DVD available.
We need your help. Sadly we can’t offer employment, at least not right now. Not until we get to a better spot. But we believe there are people who God will send us to help. What do we need help with?
Research. As our time is spread more thin, we have less time to do research for our LED’s. It would be much easier to put together if we had a research team! We have been doing some research lately on The Hunger Games. If you have some good information, send it our way!
Translation. Many of our videos need translated into other languages. A lot of the english has been done. Sadly we lost an important hard drive this summer. Most of our translations were on it. We recovered a lot, but we need to standardize our translation format and add them to our digital videos so people can watch no matter what language they speak.
Social Media. This doesn’t usually take a lot of time. But it sure helps grow the ministry when we are active with this realm of ministry. If you are a social media person, we’d like to work with you and grow that part of the ministry. With only 2 of us, we simply don’t have time.
Blogs. Are you a writer? Journalist? Theologian? We could really use some blog content, not just any content though, it needed to be in the vein of ministry that we do. But we really want to reach some hearts and minds.
Bible Studies. Calling all pastors and theologians! This is something we have talked about for a long time. But wouldn’t it be great if each video came with a Bible study? Or what if you could download them online? We want to spread the truth in a very engaging, creative manner. And a great Bible study would be a valuable asset. Some of the pastors we know will be hearing from us!
Roku. This is a long story and at times a sore subject. We’d like to skip all the history. We have a Roku channel up and yes we are aware that some of it is not working. Our contact is busy and we want to take this to the next level. If you are familiar with the platform and think yo can help us, we would really like to hear from you.
This is only the beginning. We believe that the Lord wants to take our ministry to the next level.
